Feminine and delicate the ‘Josephine’ is inspired by the half boot of the Victorian era and features our signature lace hand stretched over delicate satin. Created in a flattering calf length it features an eyelet and shoelace design which is tightened to ensure a perfect fit, whilst a comfortable vintage style heel and our soft padded insoles ensure that you will be comfortable on your feet all day long too.

The ‘Josephine’ is the perfect choice for those wishing to recreate the classic Victorian boot silhouette and is perfect for vintage and period fashion lovers. This style be the ideal partner to a vintage or Victorian inspired wedding dress or outfit and the warm ivory shade will suit a variety of gowns, from ivory to cream and champagne.

Your boots will be delivered to you in a beautiful handmade box, so you will be able to treasure forever as a keepsake (or just to house them in between wears).

Sizing Information

Our footwear is manufactured on the basis of the European Women’s Footwear Size System. As comparisons between the European and other systems vary considerably, we offer below the conversion system we use. However, if you have any doubt, please contact us at sales@houseofelliotcollection.com before you make your purchase.

Calf and Leg Width: House of Elliot boots feature an adjustable satin ribbon at the side which adjusts the boot to suit most leg widths. If you have particularly slender or particularly athletic calves please contact us so we can ensure the perfect fit. Our Lotti Elliot Ankle Boots, Lizzie Elliot Ankle Boots and Josephine Boots are the perfect choice if you fall within this category as they suit all leg widths.

If you are in between sizes and have a standard width foot, we would recommend going for the smaller size. The only exception to this is our ‘Lizzie Elliot’ lace boot and ‘Lydia Elliot’ shoe where we recommend sizing up if in between sizes.

If you are in between sizes and have a wider width foot, we would recommend going for the larger size.

NOTE: Our Lotti Elliot ankle boot & Evangeline Elliot knee high boot come up a full size bigger. We would recommend you order a size down. For example, if you are a UK 5/EURO 38/US 7 you will need to order a UK 4/EURO 37/US 6. Unlike our other styles, this boot can cater up to size UK 9/EURO 42/US 11 if you order a UK 8/EURO 41.

If in doubt we would always recommend you measure your feet using the guide below and contact us at sales@houseofelliotcollection to confirm the right size for you.

  • Stand on a flat piece of A4 paper, back and heels flat against a wall.
  • Get someone else to draw around both feet. Choose the size that fits the larger of the two feet.
  • Measure in centimetres.
  • Consider the socks or tights you might wear.
  • If you require a wider fit, try ordering a size larger.
